I don't think your Last Visited info in the profile works... because I know the last time I visited this site was on August 4th, yet my Last Visited info says July 31 still... watch it change after I type this in...

The problem with that seems to be that one of the admins besides me changed the User template, without understanding what he was doing. Maybe I will fix it soon. =)

Posted by gian [send private reply] at August 05, 2002, 11:30:33 PM

That was pointed :-)
I actually meant to remove both that and change the ICQ "-1" thing, but I kinda started playing Half-Life Opposing forces and haven't stopped yet.
And I haven't even started Blue-Shift!

Posted by CodeRed [send private reply] at August 05, 2002, 11:42:43 PM

"Half life...Opposing Force...Blue Shift"

Done, done, and done :D

Posted by gian [send private reply] at August 06, 2002, 12:03:31 AM

CodeRed, I got all three ages ago, but I thought I might actually sit down and play them finally.

Posted by Nyiah [send private reply] at August 06, 2002, 08:32:56 AM

the ICQ "-1" thing is just a default problem, it's not that hard to fix, right? but I guess when you have Half Life and you kinda start playing it... =D

"CodeRed, I got all three ages ago, but I thought I might actually sit down and play them finally."

???

All I was saying was that I've beaten all of them, either opposing force or blue shift is really hard, forget which one.

Posted by Neumann [send private reply] at August 06, 2002, 09:45:33 AM

I've beaten all of them too and I found none of them, especially OpFor and Blue-Shift, are hard. The original Half-Life is very long and requires alot of patience though.

Posted by CodeRed [send private reply] at August 06, 2002, 01:53:24 PM

There are puzzles in one of them that took me a while to figure out. Which one has that part where you have to push a barrel over a cut piece of wire to complete the circuit to open a door? That took me forver, when I finally did it I was like... DUH, I'M AN IDIOT.

Posted by RedX [send private reply] at August 06, 2002, 02:35:56 PM

That puzzle was totaly wrong. One wire and not isolated? What were they thinking!?

RedX: If all games were made totally realistic then we would be dead after taking 1 bullet and the game CD would automatically destroy itself in the drive! After all, when I'll die, I don't expect to be able to reload from a savefile :P No seriously, you have to be able to take those kind of things when playing a game otherwise it's just not fun.

CodeRed: Yeah. Some puzzles in OpFor and Half-Life were very hard but I had someone to help me when I was stuck. But for me an hard game is a game where you can't just look on the net to find solutions. I recently played Return to Castle Wolfenstein and found some bosses there very hard to take down! I had to retry over and over again but I finally decided to set myself in god mode... that was an HARD part for me.

"After all, when I'll die, I don't expect to be able to reload from a savefile"

Why are we paying for life insurance then?

Try Gradius 3, The end of the game is like 16 straight bosses.

Posted by mop [send private reply] at August 07, 2002, 01:01:19 AM

Why has everyone I've known cheated on return to castle wolfenstein! All you do is circle strafe with the venom, the tesla, and when both those are out the paratrooper rifle.
Circle strafing people!

Except that uber soldat. That took me a while.

Posted by Neumann [send private reply] at August 07, 2002, 07:05:39 AM

Yeah.... I was really talking about that ubersoldat. The smaller ones were tough but I manage to kill them without cheating.

Posted by DragonWolf [send private reply] at August 09, 2002, 04:49:20 AM

lol, I didn't use any cheats but I must have reloaded like a million times..

Posted by mop [send private reply] at August 09, 2002, 02:49:42 PM

I think it said 66 or so attempts at the uber soldat level, now I'm playing in 'I am death incarnate mode', and i just can't wait till I get there.

On easy I beat the game in 4 days, and heinrick in 2-3 tries! I over prepared myself for him.

You want a tuff boss to beat, try Final Fantasy 7's Emerald Weapon

Posted by Psion [send private reply] at August 09, 2002, 05:38:11 PM

And it is now fixed.

Posted by Nyiah [send private reply] at August 10, 2002, 02:40:49 PM

lol, =) the simple pleasures in life....

I didn't think anyone would do it since the topic in this thread has changed to RPGs... but my personal fav is Quake...

Posted by sphinX [send private reply] at August 10, 2002, 08:17:38 PM

How is Quake an RPG?

Posted by gian [send private reply] at August 10, 2002, 08:42:39 PM

It's not...

Posted by mop [send private reply] at August 10, 2002, 11:07:02 PM

One of those ID programmers better not have remade MY copy of return to castle wolfenstein an RPG while I was sleeping..

Posted by CodeRed [send private reply] at August 11, 2002, 01:24:07 AM

Speaking of favorite RPG's:

PS2: Final Fantasy X
PC: Final Fantasy VII
SNES: Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals
NES: Final Fantasy 3

Posted by buzgub [send private reply] at August 11, 2002, 02:35:57 AM

anyone else noticed that the only person actually talking about RPG's in this thread is codered?

Posted by mop [send private reply] at August 11, 2002, 02:56:55 AM

In other news, I'm at the super soldat level in 'I am death incarnate mode'

Posted by CodeRed [send private reply] at August 11, 2002, 02:58:59 AM

LOL, Fine, Ill talk about FPS's and brag that I HAVE UNREAL 2003, so kiss my skinny ass.

Posted by mop [send private reply] at August 11, 2002, 03:26:22 AM

Why if my bandwidth weren't tied up from downloading rtwc maps right now...

Posted by gian [send private reply] at August 11, 2002, 04:44:47 AM

I didn't know Unreal 2003 was even out... or is there some staggered release of Unreal 2003 & Unreal Tournament 2003, or were you talking about the same thing (Or indeed, did my message even make sense)?

Posted by mop [send private reply] at August 11, 2002, 05:07:41 AM

He must have a beta of some sort, I saw some guy in a different forum showing off his screenshots.

I say we send in a ninja attack force to infiltrate his lair and retreive the hard drive.

ugh, never read x-entertainment.com at 3 am with a jolt buzz wearing off

Posted by buzgub [send private reply] at August 11, 2002, 05:41:28 AM

I believe the america's army game uses the same engine, so you could be cheap and download that. Hooray for american taxpayers giving games away for free!

Now, if only it was a genre of game that I actually enjoyed.

Posted by RedX [send private reply] at August 11, 2002, 05:58:05 AM

And they have a big show planned this winter. Golfwar II Bush Vs Hoessein.

Posted by Nyiah [send private reply] at August 11, 2002, 02:18:47 PM

oops, maybe not RPG, but first person shooter games... since that was what most everyone was talking about previously.... oh nevermind

Posted by CodeRed [send private reply] at August 11, 2002, 03:08:23 PM

Oh and by the way, I'm playing it on my brand new Abit KR7A-Raid, 512mb PC3000 Corsair XMS DDR, Geforce 4 TI4600, and Athlon XP 2100+

Posted by mop [send private reply] at August 11, 2002, 03:52:03 PM

do they have a linux port for america's army yet?

Posted by Linux_Penguin [send private reply] at August 11, 2002, 09:09:00 PM
