A FAQ would be nice.

How about a FAQ? And at the top of each forum a very big, flashing link to it. That would make answering to the Standard Collection of Newbie Questions a lot faster.
Nobody can escape the S.C.N.Q. Why not make it as easy as possible?

Yeah I agree with REdX , there is a lot o newbie , very stupid questions lately and he clutter things up , why not make a separate forum for them ? So we dont have to read them by mistake :) !

This issue has been brought up in the past. Basically, our answer has been "write it yourself". If you want something to get done around here you need to do it yourself. If you identify a set of questions you consider to be frequently answered and (preferably using the resource of all the standard answers we give) write the answers, I'm sure Psion and the rest of the admins would be glad to link to it.

It would not solve the problem ...

I think it would.... just that somebody has to do it.

Maybe we could have "Submit your own FAQ Answer/Question", so that everybody can contribute....

FAQ you, the FAQ was my suggestion about a year ago, just nobody listens to me (and no I'm not volunteering)

I actually went through the forums to see if there were any questions that were asked frequently. I could find none asked frequently enough to merit inclusion in a FAQ document, and so didn't bother with the creation of such a thing.

CodeRed, well done... but because of your unwillingness to implement it, somebody else takes the credit :-)

Whatever, let 'em have it, I've got nothing to prove to you guys

Of course not, you've done a fine job of *proving* yourself in the past.

No questions frequently asked? How about "How do I start programming?" "What language is best?" "Does my ass look fat in this dress?".

Yeah , I will create a FAQ for begginers if noone alse is willing to.I'll put it on my "to-do" pile , I'll try to get it finished by some time this week.

Does my ass look fat in this dress? - I havent heard that one before? Do people who ask the two questions before tend to ask that one ?

Posted by RedX [send private reply] at February 10, 2002, 04:34:11 PM

No, mostly girlfriends ask that. It might be a little bit of topic.

Right well... I have *almost* finished an FAQ system... Should allow users to post their own FAQ questions and answers...
