Meeting on Saturday, June 2?
Posted by Psion [send private reply] at May 25, 2001, 07:29:56 PM
Would this work out for an IRC meeting (in #tpu on EFNet, of course) to discuss the future direction of TPU? The general time that's been floating around is 2 PM EST, 6 PM GMT. I think it would be good to get a bunch of willing volunteers working on turning TPU into some sort of powerhorse or another. :-) Feel free to fill this thread in the interim with possible ideas, to be discussed then or just voiced here.

I'd be working around that time, and without being able to show up, my evil ways of convincing people to use Python for all their handy-dandy, programming needs, then the meeting would be totally unsuccessful.
Memorial Day, sometime late late at night, or early early in the morning would be best, I think.

I was thinking... what about 6 EST? It means it is a more reasonable time for most people I think, although I'm yet to check how this would affect europeans.

That's 10 to 12 PM in the most common time zones for European personages in TPU.

I can handle late nights, but if I had to get up at 4am, I would be bitching and flaming like you've never seen.

During the summer I doubt to many of us would really care when the meetings are.

At this rate, we're not going to have any meetings. I suggest on Saturdays, from 3PM - 10PM, come when you can and for as long as you can. Howabout it?

Sounds like a date.

is that 3-10pm est = 6pm - 1am GST = 4am - 11am GMT+10....am i correct? if so, then sounds like a good time, and i can be there for the last 3 or 4 hours, depending on how early i can get up

That's 6am - 1pm GMT+12, yay!

Yes, even better for you sheep people. Only kidding, not all NZ people love their sheep, just the clever ones.
Those times are, of course, assuming that I can count.
