simple perl

I know this sounds like homework and I know how you guys feel about doing other peoples home work but right now I'm not even in school. I'm just messing around with perl and for the first time in my life I am doing the exercises. What I'm working on now is how to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius. I know this is really simple and I have it all down except for the math part. I can't figure out the equation to convert them. If anyone knows please post it. Thanks,
