I am new and want to learn javascript. What will be the book or books for me to start with?

Try learning it online - its cheaper but if you want a book ... try a thin reference one.

There are thousands of good online tutorials for Javascripting, just do a google search and you'll get tons of results. After going through some of those tutorials, the best way to learn advanced scripting techniques is to look at the source code of other webpages using javascript. This is how most of the scripters I know learned how to program with it.

JavaScript is ECMA-262 is it not so why dont you learn ECMA ( you'll be able to then learn easily WMLS , JScirpt , JavaScript , LiveScript .... )
