Definitly a WinModem, being that it has HCF. I have the same problem. Try to find your FCC ID number, and Modem Chipset, then there is a *slight* possibility that you can find a driver modem. I know there are some drivers for Lucent chipsets. I couldn't get the drivers to work being my kernel is 2.2.16, and the one for the oldest kerenel is 2.2.19.
Probly the simpilyict solutions is a extermal modem, or a internal hardware modem. [I haven't tried this yet, but Iv read that Linux ignores the internal modems if it detects an external modem]
But, good luck with it.
