how to make spreadsheet-like grid in VC++

I have tried to make spreadsheet-like grid input in VB according to MSDN Knowledge_Base and it works, but when adapted to VC++ the edit box doesn't show.

If you are not checking return values on every single function you call (to see if an error happened), well, you should be.
