C# Anyone?

Posted by grandsnafu [send private reply] at July 14, 2001, 01:55:48 PM

Does anybody here program in C#, and is it any different than C++ or C or is it just another ploy by Micro$oft to convert everyone to the dark side?

It is at least a ploy by MS to put Sun out of business. I don't know about that Jedi stuff.

Posted by grandsnafu [send private reply] at July 14, 2001, 05:22:13 PM

Yeah, the jedi stuff was dumb...oops...oh well.

Maybe I should have put a :-) at the end of my reply... I didn't think it was dumb.

M$ is trying again to assimilate more morons, I mean users.

A programming language from Microsoft. cout would be something like this:
Microsoft_All_Rights_Reserved_Cout << serial(154A4863s8d2c) << "hello world";

A programming language from Microsoft would not have any code, just wizards.

A programming language from microsoft would more than likely be stolen from Apple, just like the idea of windows was, not that i use a mac, but still.

Brilliant.

if microsoft does more stealing from apple, wouldn't they be using a unix kernel soon? that would be weird...

grandsnafu: It is my belief that Windows 2000 is actually just a very poor port of the linux kernel. I mean, you only have to use it for a few days before you get these real "Stolen" vibes about it...

.. Linux should be so lucky!

Posted by gian [send private reply] at July 20, 2001, 01:50:14 AM

Lordaerom: You are the illigitemate son of Bill Gates!

Posted by CHollman82 [send private reply] at July 20, 2001, 11:33:01 PM

Lordaerom is a bastard all right :)

Posted by sphinX [send private reply] at July 21, 2001, 02:12:43 AM

/me bashes CHollman82 with the IPOJ

Lordaerom is not a bastard, he's just a Microsoft whore :-)

On a serious note, I don't mind Win2K, although I'm running ME at the moment, and even that doesn't cause me too many troubles.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I must get back to Myst III.

Posted by gian [send private reply] at July 21, 2001, 06:01:26 AM

Myst III rocks... :-)
Win2k is not bad...
Lordaerom rocks....
Sphinx rocks because he bashed CHollman82...
I rock because of what I am about to do:
/me bashes CHollman82 with the IPOJ

Win 2000 was written with C#. With the option "steal from other OS' " set to max.
Actually we should encourage M$ to steal more from other OS'. That way they might someday produce a OS that actually works. (wishfull thinking)

RedX is so funny!!! But actually, I don't know if I can still be termed a 'Microsoft Whore'... I'm running FreeBSD exclusively, though i use VMWare and windows 2000 because I enjoy getting paid.

i think without an operating system we have no programming languages, and no base to use anything, i think we have to take into account (as much as i hate M$) the fact that the developers have to cope with so many abusive letters from mac and linux users.
If we all got rid of windows, those developers would never have to receive shitty emails.. :P

I like to think of myself as not being a conformist... Now, technically... hating MS is being a conformist... but lets take it one step further! Living is being a conformist as well! The majority of people alive today are, well... living, so that is being a conformist!

The point: Stop bashing Microsoft... it's sooooo cliche, and girl... change that nail polish, because watermelon pink really isn't your color.

Miguel de Icaza, one of the more prominent GNOME developers, has an interview on the O'Reilly Network about his thoughts on .NET. He said that he really liked C# and .NET and could see himself developing with them in the _future_. It's a good interview and you should read it if you have time. http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/dotnet/2001/07/09/icaza.html
