Who says it's possible? What are you trying to do?

It's possible to load Visual Basic code into a webpage using ActiveX.

Search for 'ActiveX & HTML' or something like that and you will find guidance. It's easy. I've done it once with an ActiveX DLL made with C++.

"Easy" changes to "impossible" if you want web pages that work reliably across platforms.

Would the DLL execute on the server side, or is it as stupid as I think it is?

It's as stupid as you think. Even Windows users who are security-conscious will not have this enabled.

I keep it at the default setting so IE asks for confirmation everytime it stumbles on an ActiveX control it would have to download and install.
