can javascript output to a file?

Short answer.. no
Long answer... If you count a cookie as a file, yes, but it only stores so much. JS is clientside, Serverside is the way to go.

Yeah, serverside is the way to go, but if you don't want to pay for hosting elsewhere and your ISP is too cagey to let you run your own server, you can't make a public site. All the free places that I've found are shocking :(

If you mean output to a file on the local system, then yes, cause that's the normal exploit for a javascript/vbscript virus.

f2s is bad!

cobbs: why?
taubz: I think norton antivirus picks those up, and they'd have to be browser-specific

well...

I signed up and i uploaded everything and i couldn't view it when visiting my new website normally. I didn't go much further because of that, it probably has a lot more problems.
