I need a site for newbies

I know this message isn't exactly specific and I am sure you have heard the question WAY too many times. However, I don't want you to tell me how to hack (If you'd like, that could be nice), but I would like some sites on the subject. From top to bottom in idiot proof form. I have been using a computer since I was 3 years old and have a fare amount of knowledge, but I only know basic HTML for languages. I intend on learing Java script and i know i need to learn more than that. I wish there was a site out there that starts from beginning to end with idiot-proof steps to hack. With the size of the net, there has to be a site out there and I hope someone could tell me.

E-Mail... aldend123@yahoo.com

PS. I also run WinBlows ME and have no clue about Linux and Unix.

There are resources for completely new programmers, based around the Python language, at:
http://www.python.org/doc/Newbies.html

With the "learning shells" idea we're working on now, we should hopefully have everything people in your position need to get started available from TPU in the near future.

you might like to clarify the meaning of the word "hack" that you're using. Are we talking http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/jargon/html/entry/hacker.html or http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/jargon/html/entry/cracker.html. Assuming the first of these possibilities, http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/faqs/hacker-howto.html might be of assistance.

I agree with BuzGub , people eem to have an idea of hackers being these coffee drinking people who 'hack' into peoples PC's , open and close their harddrivves , delete their sie , spoil major servers. FULL STOP.Unfortunately I can't explain how the wrod came about ( omeone alse will ) but the confusing thing is hackers don't 'hack'.The coffee bit is just native to all coputer people.:/

The way I'm detecting URL's in messages now considers the URL to end at whitespace, so the period at the end of the "sentence" is tacked on.
