ADO,DAO and RDO

What is the difference between the ADO, DAO and RDO connections? I dont need the Expansion for the abbreviation. Plz tell me where and when these connections are used....

ADO is an programming interface that allows a program to connect to MS Access or a MS SQL server. DAO is what is used in access to retrive infomation from the database using SQL.

ADO - Connection between a program and a datasource such as Acces or SQL server
DAO - Connection to inside a database from the same database

Dont know what RDO is
