Yup. It's a language made by microsoft, and is written C#. It's basically microsoft's answer to java.

C# is from the new family of Microsoft.. called the .NET revolution. Every now and then, the guys at microsoft get a brainwave and try something... After the lot of hype when it was released about a year and a half ago (They really thought c# will be better than Java!!!!) it has just faded away. U really cant find it any where other than computer centers teaching u that language.

But Microsoft is keeping its fingers crossed. The Visual Studio .NET package has C# in it , and they are hoping that it will pick up i the days to come !!!!

It hasn't faded away yet! The non-beta version of Visual Studio was only released in February. As a programmer at a software company, I can say that there aren't going to be any .NET/C# applications for some time because of the R&D needed to convert old systems to .NET and because .NET isn't exactly instantly compatible with every Windows computer.

.NET and C# will inevitably become the de facto standard for Windows programming. There's going to be no better alternative. While I think Java is still a superior language (I've worked in both), until GCC ports a stable version of its Java-to-native code compiler, Java's just not fast enough for developing applications.

We'll know C#'s fate by the end of the yet.

M$ will probably try to shove it down our throat.
