Posted by jay_dee [send private reply] at July 02, 2002, 10:52:01 PM

I just got a new computer and every time I go into XWindows and try to run a program it is bigger then my screen. Is there any way to fix this? I know in windows you can adjust the screen area by going to the Control Pannel and then Display, is there something like this in Xwindows? thanks,

jay

If you are using Redhat then 'Xconfigurator' should do the trick. Otherwise you might want to edit your X config file.

I always hear people talking about Xconfigurator for redhat linux, and I have RedHat 7.2, but it didn't come with my distribution (I've checked all the stuff in my PATH directories). Where can I download it?

It sounds like you have virtual desktop on. I believe it can be changed with xf86config or as was said xconfigurator.

mrnorman: Try http://www.rpmfind.net or a google search for it. Otherwise Redhat.com downloads might have it.
