Dual Monitor Graphics Card

Posted by AnyoneEB [send private reply] at August 07, 2002, 08:28:31 PM

I'm currently looking into a new graphics card to replacemy 8 MB one. Since my server is only a few feet away, I'm interested a dual monitor card to steal my server's monitor. My brother has a dual monitor card which is here: http://matrox.com/mga/products/mill_g550/home.cfm which looks good.
Does anyone suggest a better one?

NOTE: My system has AGP 2x, Windows XP (might have Linux later), and a Pentium 3 935Mhz processor.

The matrox parhelia is the newest and best, pricy though. I have links to it in a thread by me called "my next system"

Yeah, I looked at that, but I don't need THAT much... the real reason is that I'd need a new motherboard for it because mine is 2x and the parhelia requires 4x I think.

Hey why not just get another card and put it in PCI? I got an nvidia xtasy at christmas time and it works pretty well in the PCI slot. I left my old matrox in the AGP slot and use it for the other smaller monitor. Everything I have runs with no problems. And as an example, I run Warcraft 3 at 1024x728 with everything on high, so I guess that is kind of a good endorcement.

My current graphics card was litterally the cheapest one I could find. ATI Rage Mobility 8MB, the tech test for Warcraft 3 almost crashed my computer. It's not wroth keeping for anything.
