hey, i'm just wondering, would teaching yourself computer programming be better for career opurtunities?? or would going to uni be better?? cos the thing is i've left school and i don't intend on going to uni.. how much of a chance will i have in getting a job in this industry??

Its good for your career "opurtunities", however, you are going to saturate the market with programmers and people will not pay for my skills anymore because every snot nosed brat out of high school knows C.
I suggest a degree in bartending and pharmecuticals.

have_dinner: As SchizoChimp sort of said... There are thousands of jobs for programmers out there. New Zealand, a country of only 3 Million people needs 3000 new IT people a month, they only get 1500.

have_dinner: Most parts of the world, including australia need lots of new IT people. My point is, learn as much as you can by teaching yourself, and then submit your CV to a IT employment agency (there are thousands).
