***URGENTLY REQUIRED : UNPAID WEB DEVElOPERS/PROGRAMMERS***
Operation Freedom is looking for volunteers to come in and help us out. You can call it an internship. You can call it volunteer work. We prefer to call it an unpaid labor of love. Actually, you will be giving away your time for free but let's not argue semantics. JOB "RESPONSIBILITIES" Everyone likes to work. We are giving you the opportunity to work for us for free. But just because you aren't getting paid doesn't mean that it won't be like a real job. We promise you will have long hours doing all the tedious stuff from page designing, database management to periodical updating. Come be the envy of all your enemies. Comes wrestle llamas all day long. Hell, you can even do my job. Applicant must be able to work from their home (no matter where you live) at odd and rush hours. Work would involve an interactive webportal development from the ground up from the guidance of an internationally-acclaimed selfless visionary. If you have good social skills we might let you work with the interanational leaders' community a bit. WHAT YOU NEED TO EARN YOUR KEEP: ~ HTML/JHTML/PHP/MySQL programming required ~ Photoshop/Flash skill is all good ~ Java/C#/VB.NET experience a plus ~ Having a keen eye for web design would be really nice ~ Knowledge of cryptography and other online security tools ~ A willingness to work for little to no reward at all (ok fine, it will look great on a resume) REWARD : GREATER SATISFACTION AS AN AGENT OF CHANGE Happy times for you. Send your resume, code and design sample of your work, and a cover letter explaining why you are interested to join an unpaid project to drbista@subdimension.com immediately. Only emailed applicatins accepted. Selected volunteers would be informed at the earliest withing November 2002. Only serious, career-oriented and compassionate candidates (who want to be CHANGEMAKERS of our time!) need apply. Good luck. POST-SCRIPTUM Please feel free to post this to webforums for programmers or web developers or forward this message to anyone who may be interested, provided the message contained within is intact. Thanking you for your time and cooperation.

1) Its been a while since we've been spammed! 2) This has to be the worst spam I've ever seen 3) How desperate do they think we are 4) The fivking cheek of them

Sorry Dr., but adds aren't very well looked upon here. Besides, most of us, if not already employed, have projects we're working on.
But, nonetheless, good luck with your project!

I think GPL even pays its programmers, doesn't it??
However, I do see how this could be a good idea, let people learn about wokring in a more corprate envirement, but the way it's pushed seems rather harsh for some one not even being paid.

It's just annoying that these guys didn't even feel like telling what the heck "Operation Freedom" is (or include some link to a page giving some information).
And to the top of it, they want an resume! (demos & samples ok... but an resume..)

I have a resume!!
BTW, if you check his profile it has a link, though I think it would have been a common curtesy to include it in his post.

I think t would have been common curtesy not to post at all ;)

"We are giving you the opportunity to work for us for free"
- I'm not sure that they actually exist, and if they do, they have no idea about recruitment! We promise you will have long hours doing all the tedious stuff from page designing, database management to periodical updating.

"WHAT YOU NEED TO EARN YOUR KEEP"
Earn your keep? WTF is wrong with you? It is a volunteer position is it not? Beggers can't be choosers, and you are leading a revolution to start a new social structure? You, my friend, are an idiot.

We may spend hours in front of our computers doing web design, programming, database management and periodical updating at home, but doing it for someone else?!?!?! NO WAY!

I think the site was trying to say "do it for the world". Plenty of people already do that, not as a job, but in open source projects do they not?
