Who else here is going to see LOTR: Two Towers? I have four tickets to the 12am showing on the 18th...opening show. I am the man. Or something like that.
Oh, and let us discuss the rendering engine used for stuff so it is on topic.

I've got tickets for 22.00 on the 19th. Could have gotten earlier, but that were mostly crappy times to watch a movie..

gian, have you seen/been to where it was filmed?

Yes and no... I live about 20 minutes from "Hobbiton".

Tickets for the 9:00am mountain time showing on the 18th. With 300 other engineering students. We booked the whole damn theatre and got cheap prices. Boo-ya.

The most that will be said about it (so as to avoid spoiling it for everyone else) is that it kicked ass.

This is crazy. New Zealand gets the movie before Australia.
Bleargh.

Any Americans seen the new Star Trek miovie? Is it out there now? Being released here on the 3rd of January. Whats it like (I used to be a big trekkie but I maintain a side-line interest now) - DONT POST THE STORYLINE (Id hope that is common sense).
And what did you think of the new Bond movie? T'was shit imho.

buzgub, that may or may not have something to do with the fact that it was filmed in New Zealand/the director is a New Zealander...
Also, take note that the world premier of The Return of the King (LOTR3) will be in Wellington, New Zealand!

I wonder what Aragorn, the descendant of the king that took the ring instead of destroying it, will do in Return of the King....(and I wonder why Tolkien hated that title for the last volume)
Posted by mop [send private reply] at December 19, 2002, 11:53:10 PM
yeah, I don't want to see harry potter two, the books actually were not bad.. But I still rather see bowling for columbine or lord of the rings.
*light bulb appears above head* hey, theres an idea, why don't I see lord of the rings instead!

Yeah, I used to be a trekkie, but I moved and it didn't come on till 12AM on Sunday, so I didn't watch the last eps of Deep Space 9, or Voyeger....

Itinitl: don't worry, you didn't miss much, both series were going downhill fast.

I lost interest at around the start of the last series of DS9
I don't think the last series of Voyager wass ever screened here. /me wonders if it is worth finding out what happened to voyager in the end, or if he should just read a plot summary.
Posted by AnyoneEB [send private reply] at December 20, 2002, 03:42:14 PM
Actually, I think the Voyager Finalle was good, just most of the other eposodes weren't.
Posted by mop [send private reply] at December 20, 2002, 05:06:13 PM
I agree.
However, I rather have a root canal preformed through my rectum with a rusty fork by a medeival surgeon then watch deep space 9.

I wasn't too fond of ds9 ... especially the earlier serieses(sp?). I noticed the way they used the same clips and blended them into multiple fights scenes in numerous episodes during the war.

DS9 has great cohesion and powerful actors. And also Dax. Jadzia (sp) Dax was glorious, as Worf would say.
Voyager and Enterprise - uh. No comment. TNG - Powerful actors. And cohesion. That's all there is to it.
