Free hosts with PHP,Perl, and or MySQL

Posted by ItinitI [send private reply] at December 23, 2002, 09:07:34 PM

Okee, my team wants forums for it's website, and we're cheap, so we need a free host. We're thinking of going with IkonBoard [well, I am anyway]. We tried FlatFace.net ,but I don't think they accepted us, and we tried Portland, but when we try to sign up for host, it says forbidden. So, does any one know of a good FREE host with any of those [mainly just need Perl].

Also, what is required to run DevLocus forums??

Much ThanX!

What is required is enough patience to figure out how to set up a million different things using a procedure only ever performed by me, never written down, and not quite clear in my head. =)

Ah, mental notes.

The problem is.. A forum _can_ take up a frightfully high amount of bandwidth each month.. I administer one that has an average of 10+ GB a month.

www.netfirms.com

I think I was gonna use them, and that they were pretty good, but then I never finished what I was doing. Try them.

Definately have perl, not sure about PHP/servlets.

Netfirms doesnt support PHP and it also has banners at the top. I suggest http://biz.ly , thier is no banners, support for PHP and its free.
