My webpage finally finished

Posted by ken [send private reply] at May 20, 2003, 09:42:43 PM

Quite unrelated to programming, and I know someone will surely tell me this again.

Anyways, my site is finally to the point where I can call it a site without disgracing myself anymore!

Tell me if you see something really wrong (especially in the projects part), except for conjunctions and grammar.

You might not want to use blue hyperlinks on a blue background in the menu bar. Its a tad difficult to read.

Embrace the wonderful world of CSS. Mmmmmm.. CSS is our friend. ;o)

I side with AngelOD for CSS and DragonWolf for link color.

"huh?"

I posted a thread on redesigning my site a few weeks ago because of so many complaints. Keep up with the threads.

Hmm, not bad...but yeah, I think some CSS would be nice.
Some suggestions:
-Maybe try some different fonts for Page names, the titles at top of pages ect.
-Maybe try to find a third colour to add to the page in some way.
-Maybe register a .tk domain name [ http://www.dot.tk ]

i'm being repetitive... yes, CSS would serve you well... if you don't feel comfortable actually writing it out, premade layouts that use CSS are really easy to find and use and there are a TON of designs available :o)

I'm a xml/xhtml/css purist myself, are most browsers able to view xhtml nowadays? I ain't tested anything other than netscape and IE.

My confusion was not due to a lack of "keeping up with the threads" it was due to your site itself. What I was confused by, I couldn't say. Perhaps it was the Voltron/Transformer on the front page, or perhaps the guess-the-number Python game. C'est la vie.

It is simply a homepage. I like Transformers (don't ask why) so I thought having Optimus protecting my page would be nice.

And I believe someone requested I have more pictures so I just added in some pictures I liked.

I thought it was a nice picture. (^_^)

Thanks. Wasn't it you who suggested more pictures?

I especially like the one with the soccer player. :)

I'm looking into CSS right now so it shouldn't be too long until I add it.

I few more entries in the guestbook won't hurt either :) Gian was the first to sign it from TPU I think.

Just FYI, you have "guestbook" spelled "guesbook". Other than that I like it.

Thanks. For telling me, I haven't even noticed that yet.

And I've added some CSS. I didn't really know what to add so I just changed the lines under the links and make the scrollbar black....
