i am new to linux and i am reading linux programming guide. i have a question
1. how to check for free space in linux and
2. how to configure the resolution ( like 640x480, 800x600, etc in windows)?
let me know if you know
Posted by gian [send private reply] at August 03, 2001, 03:38:32 PM It kinda depends on your Distro for the resolution... but the Disk space I can help you with.
"df" (without the quotes) will do the trick.

You can reconfigure everything about X, including setting up more supported resolutions. From within X, I think you can switch with [ctrl]-[alt]-+ I'm not sure though...and it all might depend on the distro.
