drivespace/driveconverter = satan = kill computer

I'm switching my old box from Windows to Linux because I don't want to screw up my computer until I know what I'm doing in Linux. Anyway, I'm trying to get it back to as close to original as possible. I plan on repartitioning the stupid thing so it only has C: and not logical D: and E: which was dumb in the first place. Anyway, all those drives were compressed at some point with drivespace, which is a big pos. Now I have host drives for all my logical drives and drives coming out my a**. So to the question. Is there a way to get rid of the h*ll that is drivespace and decompress the drives getting rid of the host drives so that I can neatly repartition and format and have one big happy family? Is formatting enough to do this or no?

Uncompress them first with drivespace.

Thanx, but I've already gone with the main idea and killed the computer, replacing it with one much more complacent.
