If you are implying that my handle has anything to do with a movie that I both hate and came out 5 years after I started using this handle, then please report to the purification chamber.

Oh no! CHollman82 likes Matrix.. Now I *have* to start hating it!

Posted by gian [send private reply] at August 07, 2001, 05:24:52 PM

CHollman82: Indeed, you are an ass... but the fact is... Psion is also a palmtop computer manufacturer, and as Psion used to be known as "PsionV", I'm guessing that is it's origins.

Note: I think "Psion" also plays a role in greek or roman mythology, but I'm not sure.

gian, NO, I don't know a bleeding thing about those bloody computers (BLOOD!).
If you don't well know, find some basic books about Dungeons and Dragons for the idea of the word, if not the origin.

Psion: Okay... I was just trying to dispel the vicious rumors.

Could also be an abbreviation.

as far as i know, "Zion" is the last remaining human city in the Matrix, not "Psion"....

Sphinx: Yes, I had a feeling that it was not Psion, but I wasn't entirely sure.

Actually, the Matrix has a lot of warped biblical philosophy cleverly woven into the storyline...."Zion" is a very appropriate name for the last human city, me thinks.

Every movie Hollywood makes has those ettical lessons in it. And for some reason everything that ever happend in history was done by Americans. Seems that all the other countries were only needed as an enemy or as something to be rescued.

I think RedX meant, that according to Hollywood, Americans are behind everything in history that's good. Now Holocaust was bad, so they waste no time showing their "important" role in stopping this madness..

Ofcourse, maybe it's not what RedX means, but watching Hollywood movies gives me the same impression, so I think it might be.

Ending Holocaust was good, yes. But why on earth did the Americans have to wait for several years before ending it? Maybe they thought that the world was overpopulated, so they would allow a few million deaths before getting involved..

all i'm saying is america starts the wars and then takes the credit for ending them.... which is a load of shit... they wouldn't have to happen in the first place.

Posted by AngelOD [send private reply] at August 16, 2001, 03:02:30 AM

As weird as it may seem, I must agree with CHollman82 (forgive me Gian ;)). America didn't have anything to do with the start of WWII.. In fact, there are a lot of wars throughout history that America was a part of (played an important role in ending it), without being the ones who started it.

Posted by eternaldisciple [send private reply] at August 16, 2001, 11:34:47 AM

The Civil War was in 1861....1776 was Revolutionary War. And America only ends "helps" end wars because we get involved in things that are not our business. We're very ethnocentric that way. Just look at Vietnam.

Posted by gian [send private reply] at August 16, 2001, 05:25:28 PM

Gulf war... Vietnam war... cold war (although, that wasn't really a war). I can't see what America actually has against communism. Why not just let other people get on with their lives as they want?

Posted by Cobbs [send private reply] at August 16, 2001, 06:24:42 PM

YAY FOR COMMUNISM!

Posted by eternaldisciple [send private reply] at August 16, 2001, 07:36:26 PM

Communism in Russia and China isn't true communism. I suggest picking up a copy of the Communist Manifesto. Communism is a system based on a farming/subsistence type economy, something Russia and China no longer have. That's why communism isn't an effective system anymore. It has been completely perverted by the change in economic values and industrial production.

By the way, the reason we interfere with other people's affairs dates back to the westward expansion and the whole manifest destiny piece of crap. We are, as a nation, very ethnocentric.

Why are most Holywood movies about the Vietnam war always about one mission somewhere in the middle and never about the fact the US got his ass kicked?
Actually I would like to see a movie about this made in Vietnam, I mean the part of Vietnam that didn't like the US.
Well, changing history is one of the ways the US colonizes the world. Just look how many American words and uses are being copied by European countries, if you don't know what I mean.
On the other hand, moslim terrorist want to turn everybody in a moslim, so we have a choice: being colonized by the US or being colonized by moslims. Since both groups don't like porn, this means Internet in the futur will be a weird place. Imagin Internet without popups you can't close, without long downloads because of agressive banners. Aren't we going to miss that?

Yes...I often relate the Vietnam War to porn.........yes.....

Posted by gian [send private reply] at August 17, 2001, 05:07:37 PM

Indeed.... I think that the whole "Under 13" internet law is oppressive, and that the US has no right to push it onto people from countries where that law is not in effect, and they credit the younger generation with more than an ounce of intelligence.
