I'm sorry... is this a farce? Some sort of joke or something?

Obviously somebody didn't get the message of "Help us improve TPU, not replace it"...

Err...403 Forbidden? Please explain.

I love the word farce :)
Uhh question, are the forums supposed to not have any horiziontal breaks or headers between posts? I don't see any since the new site design... IMO its a pain to read TPU forums!

Posted by max621 [send private reply] at January 07, 2002, 05:04:11 PM

Well, I've changed it since then. Out go all the cool new things, in goes old enough stuff to work in most any browser.

I like it.... works in Mozilla & IE 5...

Sorry, gian. It wasn't really intended as a farce or a joke. It seems that it has been turned over to me, without me really knowing it. I've decided that competing with this site isn't really helpful or useful in any way. I'm currently unable to handle running it, and since I seem to know be in charge there now (I didn't volunteer nor was I consulted first), I personally wouldn't have a problem with shutting it down.

ANYWAY ITS CLOSED DOWN NOW... really the adress always was www.tpfor.cjb.net

And RootPromt I could do anything , I lost all the FTP passwords to the site long ago , I just realised :( , anyway I deleted my username and was left stranded so the only Administrator status was RootPromt , I couldnt do anytthing after that , I wish I could have deleted it .... There were many errors in the whole running of the MySQL , for some reason the PHPBB could not connect to the database properly , also mysterious things were happening if you surfed it with ie5.5 . In the end I had to use NEtscape 3 to surf it , it was not intended in any way to compete with TPU , but was o ward people off from Youthtech , and so it did . But not to itself but back to TPU.

I've found the password and deleted the whole thing , sorry you can read the final message @ http:\\www.tpfor.cjb.net and let this be noted down in history not as a complete failre , I found the passwords for the FTP and we got 337 hits.

Don't worry, or feel bad, or anything like that, about it, m'kay? :) I guess some things just aren't meant to be, or at least not at this time.

I would not feel bad about a load of junk ! Lets all try to make TPU a better place , I must say it is far better than Youthtech.

That's the spirit!

Posted by Cobbs [send private reply] at January 13, 2002, 02:26:20 PM

Don't even compare youthtech to TPU!

Posted by vladimir_l [send private reply] at January 14, 2002, 12:13:02 PM

Anything can be compared even 0 and 6.02*10^23 , its just a matter of the difference , and between these two , its a high difference , I even think that now TPU has become better less and less people are visiting Youthtech , their adverts are annoying and the general spirit is of a huge braidead community , with only couple of forums where "normal" people talk. I must applaud TPU , again they have attracted mine and many other peoples attention , who joinde long ago but never actually came back after their first visit..

I found youthtech to be a very hierachical society.... and the whole programming section there is a joke... I think that it was basically a "I tinker in ..." kinda forum.... and then really naive set of "Opinion of the world" forums.... things like "Should we stop the killing of all the fuzzy bunnies in the world?", "Should curfews be imposed?"....

Gag me with a wooden spoon.
