Hi all, I'm new here. I need somebody to talk and help me with. I'm 14 years old, and I love programming. I'm very good at QBasic, and I'm on Day 6 on Sam's Teach yourself Visual C++ 6.0 in 21 Days Book. It's going along pretty well. I've always loved programming since I was 12. I made like 6 or more QBasic Games, and Now I have MSVisual Studio 6.0. My brother is also good at QB, but now he uses VB 6.0... Which is better C++ or VB? VB seems SOOOO much easier than C++, and it looks like it does the same stuff.

The simplistic answer is that C++ is by far the better language. It's faster and more powerful. On the other hand, you're right that VB is much easier and it can handle a lot, but not as much as C. In the end, they really just have different advantages.

Finish learning C, and then learn VB too.

(And the floodgates are open. Here comes the usual mess of replies...)

Personally, I would learn C, and then grab yourself a copy of Borland C++ Builder, if you are into the whole Rapid Application Development thing. If you know QBasic, then give VB a miss... it'll involve a whole lot of re-learning.
