does anyone know where I can find a downloadable version of C++ for dummies online?

If I would tell you where to look for illegaly downloadable books, Gain is going to change my post. So I can't mention Kazaa, nor can I tell you to look for bookz or warez. Beside the carbon version is much better, so why don't you go to a local library for it?

There are plenty of free books on intro to C and C++, "C++ for dummies" isn't that good of a book to begin with.

You might like to look into "Thinking in C++", by Bruse Eckel. It's freely downloadable.

or look on www.gametutorials.com they have around 50 C++ tutorials in one long series that you can download, or go to www.maxcode.com and check out their C++ tutorials, or there is always amazon.co.uk or .com they sell loads of real books some being very cheap. and yeah theres as buzgub mentioned, bruce Eikels 'Thinking in C++' volume one and two that can be freely downloaded. Although thinking in C++ is more about OO design and anylisis techniques and for people that already know C.
