The guy was on here a while ago trying to get VB programers to help build a chat system...he e-mailed me and is going to send the beat version of the it to me..and i'm just wondering if anyone knows if it is the real deal or if he is just a punk trying to %$$# things up..oh yeah...the company web page is down so i'm just a little suspicious..but who know..i'm probly just being paranoid..anyways if any of you know anything about this please post it..thanks,

Posted by CViper [send private reply] at May 24, 2002, 02:43:39 PM didn't he mention something about mplayer? I heard about them (i think some games allow you to use mplayer as the primary "host", so mplayer has to be quite big). Wonder if it's the same "mplayer" though.
Posted by jay_dee [send private reply] at May 24, 2002, 04:26:45 PM he said it was going to be based off mplayer..thanks
Posted by unknown_lamer [send private reply] at May 24, 2002, 05:20:01 PM /me notes how another chat system is useless when you can just use Jabber, set up your own jabber server, and then add your own client specific extensions .... www.jabber.org [under a BSD-ish license too for those of you that want to write evil software]
Posted by jay_dee [send private reply] at May 24, 2002, 06:02:15 PM good point..i just thought it would be something to do..but i dont think i want to get into makeing one right now...oh well....
Posted by AngelOD [send private reply] at May 25, 2002, 06:58:05 PM unknown_lamer: It may be pointless as a system, but the development may not. After all, if you always had to make stuff that has never been done before, I don't think a lot of us would get much programming done.. Sometimes you gotta create something just for the sake of creating..
In this case, with the whole using VB for it and stuff, I'll have to agree, though. :)
