TPU : Projects : Arrow Game Project

Hey all, as was posted at the SourceForge project page, the genre of the Arrow Game is to be determined through a survey located at the SourceForge project page. If anyone is unable to access this survey page, please email me your vote at OneHotCoconut@cs.com and I will insert your vote. Thanks!

Due to problems with maintaining the project solely through the tpu server, I have decided to move the majority of the project to SourceForge. The projects main project page is here, so anyone involved with the project should head here to check it out. Anyone who is part of the project, please 1)get a SourceForge account if you don't already have one, and 2)email me your SourceForge member name at OneHotCoconut@cs.com. This is not currently required, as the project is not yet to the point where it needs to extensively use SourceForge's functionality, but it will be required in the future.

TPU : Projects : Arrow Game Project

Hey all, I appologize to all of you who didn't get the chance to sign up. The programmer team has reached its limit of 20 members, and thus I will now stop taking sign-up requests. The project will officially start on April 29, though some members have already begun discussion. Just a reminder: Artist sign-ups are still in progress, so please take notice if you have artistic skills.

Deadline for Project Sign-Ups is April 29 at April 24, 2001, 10:34:42 PM by FatBoi

Response for Arrow Game Project has been impressive. So much, in fact, that it has become necessary to place a sign-up deadline at April 29. This is so that the project size remains manageable. There is a final limit on the programmer team size of 20 members, so if you are debating on whether to join, decide quickly! The current programmer count is around 17. The April 29 deadline also applies to Artists.

I'm sorry that I didn't mention it in the last news post, but this project requires an advanced knowledge of C++ programming, including classes and inheritance. I expect to get an introduction message thread up sometime in the next two days, so bear with me.

Hey all, for those of you confused as to the purpose of this project, I will explain. This project is intended to give experience in group development and organization to all participating. We will achieve this through the design and construction of a full on game. The game will have professional quality standards for all content, and is expected to have a minimum durration of a couple months. To apply everyone must fit the following specifications that are dependant upon area of participation: NOTE: You can participate in more than one area. Programming: Advanced knowledge and/or experience in one programming related area, or with one of the API's being used by the game. Art: Experience with producing artistic content consistently. Audio: Experience with producing audio content consistently. The game will be using the following API's/Development tools, though knowledge/possession of all is not required: -DirectX -Win32 -*Microsoft Visual C++ (6.0 would be ideal) -Art and Audio content creation tools will be dependent upon individual artists. *Required
