Why dont you make a little project area

Posted by vladimir_l [send private reply] at January 11, 2002, 05:37:59 PM

<b>Why dont you make a little project area so people can post their projects ,that would be rather useful, it just sprung to mind. And I think what you are doing with the site is great.Keep going and good luck , I'm just that lone Fortran lover , I totally love it , noone shares my love to it... Anyway you could just have a little button in the forums that switches into a handy moe to post projects...and also a maths section , with tutorials and ideas would be good.

Just Ideas..laugh..

I've been conceiving of the member sites and creations links section as fulfilling that function.

ecsept confuse you ..
Pehaps for the quck start guides a special XML DTD language that would make it much easier to share ideas , I meand one that actually is rich in good layout and one for which documentation would be more good !

There are only 3 tags. How much easier could it get?

You know, I have no idea what vladimir I is asking...

If he is asking to learn DTD, there are plenty of books out there... I learned using an almost prestandard book called "Just XML." I highly recommend it, the only thing is, the edition I learned from never taught me what the damn modulus operator did.

If he is asking to make a special langauge for a database, or something, it is quite easy, and I would be more than happy to join in.

Psion: I am pretty sure there is more than three tags in DTD. I looked at a copy of "XML in Plain English," and though it is yet another prestandard book, there are all sorts of tags. Just a lot of them never get used. Who is going to use "<!ATTRIBUTE" in the place of "<!ATTLIST" for example?

The four that get used the most are <!ENTITY, <!ELEMENT, <!ATTLIST, and <!NOTATION.

(The funny thing is though, I am replying to this thread as I am trying to get my schema file to validate.)

Please stop responding to threads about whose topics you have no knowledge. Take a peek at the "submit your own" type section on the quickstart guide page for a hint.

Next time, you can shorten you post to:

"/me smacks DakeDesuDx for being an idiot an not reading <section>"

I am afraid I know XML and DTD , its just the page has a rather weird bg colour , I fully know CSS and how they cooperate with XML. I also have had an introduction to XHTMl , but found it rather oddd..And DakeDesuDX , I dont read the Dummy books ( like skip the first 150 pages ) but the plain english books are good , unfortunately I have not read ( if you can read them ) the ASP and XHTML books. Now I just use them for reference. And DakeDesuDX it is fairrly easy , I do know.

ok....

Vladimir, if you have a project that you want the whole world to see, go to http://sourceforge.net/ and create a user account, and create it as a new project. Then, post a link to the sourceforge project here.... easy as pie.

I know gian , I doubt you will find many people who dont know of sourceforge.....and I have an account I just forgot about it....Um yes... I was just being an idiot... thats all...

To quote Scott Adams, Creator of Dilbert:
"People are idiots. Everyone is an idiot, including me. Idiocy in the modern age isn't all-encompassing 24 hour situation, it's just a condition people slip into every once and a while."

There you have it... I read it in a book, so it must be true!

Pehaps there is an idiot in all of us ! DakeDesuDX just has a good way of saying it.

Wow... guess I now know how I will be remembered around here if I ever leave.

No , I never meant it in that way , I meant that you put in in such a way that is easily interpreted by people , its "broken" up into little parts , which from my point of view the brain interpretes very ximply

Posted by DakeDesuDx [send private reply] at January 16, 2002, 05:11:49 PM

I was not really refering to that...
