PROGRAMMER WANTED FOR HACKING PROJECT

Posted by rezer [send private reply] at December 21, 2001, 04:54:54 AM

i need a programmer for a hacking project. if you don't program or don't program very well, then fuck off.

i don't care what language is used, as long as it works. email me if interested. the job does pay.

PS. I'm a clueless lamer that likes to soil message boards with my utter filth. Oh that "fuck off" comment wasn't really meant for you, I was talking to my self. (edited somewhat by sphinX, deal with it)

Hacking as in "hackers made the Linux kernel" or hacking as in "d00d, u r 133t"?

* gian embraces SphinX as a friend.

Gian is on crack because SphinX has not posted in this thread... and Linus Torvalds is not a hacker. AND 1337 H4X0R 741K 15 57U21D

CodeRed is on crack because he didn't read the first message:

"PS. I'm a clueless lamer that likes to soil message boards with my utter filth. Oh that "fuck off" comment wasn't really meant for you, I was talking to my self. (edited somewhat by sphinX, deal with it)".

And, what you are referring to about Linux Torvalds is exactly what Grandsnafu was talking about. Originally it was that "hackers" were coders and programmers, and "crackers" where destructive computer users. The 2 terms have merged, but us true computer geeks stay true to the original meanings :-)
So in a sense, Linus Torvalds is a hacker.

Granted his post was a bit of a lamers post, but I think sphinx was wrong to edit it what with free speech etc??

Just my view

Gaz, do you ever answer your email? You'll find several from me accumulated over the last few years...

Posted by drdevil [send private reply] at December 26, 2001, 04:29:20 PM

Depends Gian, if you email them to gaz@gmx.co.uk you'll get an answer everytime :)
If you mail to gaz@gaztek.* or gaz@athene.co.uk then you wont get a response ever :)

I thought I mailed to gaz@gmx.co.uk... hmmm, I'll try again.

There.... CodeRed... Read:

Wow, thats oldschool. Well Im rather new to the scene so I don't know bout stuff from the 80's

Posted by sphinX [send private reply] at December 26, 2001, 07:26:16 PM

Heh....Gaz, you'll probably find that's the first time I've edited a post, whereas for gian it's old hat ... However, I believe the banality of the original post warranted some sort of rebuke. Yes, I could have posted a new reply, but editing the post was more fun :-)

Posted by gian [send private reply] at December 27, 2001, 08:31:08 AM

See, and that is why it's old hat for me.... it's like an addiction.

And CodeRed, that wasn't actually done in the 80's, and it is still relevant [edited for spelling, just because of the irony --taubz]!

Posted by sphinX [send private reply] at December 27, 2001, 05:51:34 PM

oh oh..this is madness! :-)

Posted by gian [send private reply] at December 27, 2001, 10:53:30 PM

Thank you Taubz...

Uhh... Free speech? Internet users have no right to free speech on somebody else's message board. Someone else runs it, and it's not the property of the US government or anything.

Posted by gian [send private reply] at December 28, 2001, 05:45:13 PM

True, it is indeed Psion's choice as to who is granted free speech, and of course the decision of his demonic helpers (ie. admins).

Posted by RedX [send private reply] at December 29, 2001, 10:07:10 AM

So Psion is a despotic ruler? Or a Cyberspace overlord?
Hail to the Chief! ;-)

It is a pity if a site in a medium with such opportunity for new enlightenment as this needs any more "rule" than by the Reasonable Person Principle.

humm... talk of the eighties... I was like seven in the year 1990, and I am eighteen (as of September Fifth 2001), so I am just curious as to how young you guys started hacking? I am pretty sure that naptime really must have interfeared with your coding of the Linux Kernel. Am I right? (/me is envisioning several people with secret laboratories similar to off of "Dexter's Lab")

Posted by gian [send private reply] at December 29, 2001, 08:36:38 PM

Well, I was an avid computer user at about 3 1/2 (No kidding!)... But I wasn't really a hacker until 9/10 probably...

Posted by drdevil [send private reply] at December 30, 2001, 02:53:31 AM

Correct me if I am wrong but TPU is and always has been a democracy, so no-ones right to freespeech on the message board should be limited by anyone, admin or not.

Posted by gian [send private reply] at December 30, 2001, 02:36:08 PM

was Gaz, was a democracy :-)

Posted by DakeDesuDx [send private reply] at January 02, 2002, 03:59:10 PM

I personally believe that idiots like the first person who posted here should not get freedom of speech.

Posted by taubz [send private reply] at January 02, 2002, 07:36:48 PM

Then you too are an idiot. (slight hint of sarcasm)

Posted by DakeDesuDx [send private reply] at January 02, 2002, 07:43:58 PM

When have I ever tried to convince you guys that I wasn't an idiot?

Posted by Psion [send private reply] at January 02, 2002, 08:36:17 PM

How about you guys stop this sort of stuff before I have to add features to lock arbitrary threads? :-)
